Fast Crash Diets that Work

There are umpteen crash diets that work fast, thus making them a favorite with many. While some are commonly known diets, others aren’t so much. Here’s a random list of some such diets, which we will go over a little later in detail as well.

Popular Diets

Now that you’re familiar with at least the names of some popular diets, let’s get a better look at them.

Atkins Diet

For starters, the reason this diet is effective is because your consumption of carbohydrates per day is very low, and is supposed to be maintained at less than 20 grams a day. Since you anyway are staying away from the carbs, you are keeping your body from putting on additional weight too. Foods that you are permitted to consume in large quantities as part of this diet are, chicken, turkey, lamb, pork, ham, beef, shrimp, oysters, lobster, salmon, sardines, tuna, eggs (hard / soft boiled, scrambled, fried, poached), cheese (Swiss, cheddar, cream cheese, cottage cheese). Other than this, you can also safely consume vegetables such as mushrooms, bok choy (pak choi), endive, jicama, radish, cucumber, olives, amongst many others. If consumed in moderation, you can also eat spinach, okra, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, eggplant, and zucchini to name a few. On the other hand, there are some foods that you must absolutely stay away from. Here they are… Potato, rice, bread, sugar, beer, and fruit. There are several items that could be added to every list, but these are the most commonly consumed by most.

Grapefruit Diet

Next in line when it comes to the best crash diets that work fast is the grapefruit diet. Word is, this diet has been around for a long time actually. It is believed to have been started in the 1930s by Kelly D. Brownell, PhD, for people who were looking to lose weight quickly. Variations of this diet plan are found aplenty these days, but the basic idea remains the same. Half a grapefruit before every meal because grapefruit has fat burning enzymes which are the key element to contribute towards weight loss. That along with 8 glasses of water a day is the key to losing weight when following this diet.

Cabbage Soup Diet

This one’s popular and how! The cabbage soup diet is one of those crash diets that work in a week. The way this diet works is that you can eat all the cabbage soup you want to eat each day, along with certain other food items, which are in fact such eccentric combinations that you almost lose your taste for food, hence, losing weight. Here’s how this diet plan works… On day one you are expected to eat as much cabbage soup as you please along with any fruit except banana. Day two progresses to soup and vegetables, except peas, corn and beans. Day three is a combination of soup, vegetables and fruits, but no baked potato. Thus it goes on for an entire week. Since there anyway has been an absurd consumption of food (or lack of it) through the week, most people find their weight reduced by at least 10 pounds.

As mentioned above, there are several other diets that you can turn to, these were simply the ones known as the best crash diets that work. If at any point you do decide to take on any of these diets to lose weight, make sure you do not over do it. Also, make sure you set realistic weight loss goals while following any of these plans, so as not to disappoint yourself. As long as you do that, you shouldn’t have much to worry about. So, go ahead, eat healthy, and stay fit.
